Information used in this release was provided to Senator Kennedy’s office by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development – Joanne F. Goldstein, Secretary

Last week, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development announced that Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents safety grants were awarded to BAMSI ($8,827.50) and Brockton Day Nursery ($2,018.77).  These monies will provide workplace safety and training that will promote safe and healthy conditions in the workplace through training, education, and other preventative programs for employees and/or employers of industries operating within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and whose entire staff is covered by the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Laws (M.G.L. c. 152), sole proprietorship, d/b/a or self-insured.

The Department of Industrial Accidents is the only Massachusetts state agency whose primary function is to provide financial assistance for the prevention of occupational injury, illness and death in the workplace.
