Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board (BAWIB) Announces Employer Workforce Training Fund Workshop

The following message was sent to Senator Kennedy by Sheila Sullivan-Jardim, Executive Director of the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board regarding a Workforce Training Fund seminar for employers in the Brockton region being held November 19th and 20th:

In collaboration with Massasoit Community College, the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board (BAWIB) is sponsoring a workshop on the Workforce Training Fund for employers in our region, please see the attached flyer.  Every employer who pays Unemployment Insurance has 6% of their contribution added to this fund specifically for training of incumbent and future employees.  Statewide, there was over $3 million distributed during the July 2010 awards, unfortunately, none of that was allocated to our region.  Please help us spread the word on this seminar so that our region is aware of this opportunity and has the chance to take advantage of the training funds available to them.
